Isabel Salgado de Andrea

MORE THAN 28 YEARS PRODUCING WHITE WINES

Isabel Salgado holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, where she completed a Master’s degree in Viticulture and Oenology at the same school. She then moved to Turin (Italy) to complete her enology training.

After completing his studies, he decided to embark on a journey from Madrid to Galicia. Here, he had the firm intention of continuing his education and starting his professional career in white winemaking in some of the most renowned wineries of the time. This choice was driven by his deep love for his father’s land.

In 1994, she started making Albariño at Agro de Bazán and later, between 1996 and 1999, she worked as a winemaker at Bodegas Zárate, also specializing in Albariño wines. She then took a significant step in her career by joining Bodegas Fillaboa, where she has worked as winemaker for the last 24 years.

Isabel served as President of the Consejo Regulador de los Aguardientes y Licores Tradicionales de Galicia from October 2003 to July 2008.

In addition to her vast experience in Galicia, our winemaker has advised on winemaking in Portugal, collaborating with the leading Portuguese winery Poema, located in Melgaço.

Isabel is distinguished by her rigorous control of yields, her unwavering respect for the grape and her philosophy of minimal intervention in search of the maximum expression of the terroir of each plot. Her wines are a masterful balance between power and structure, elegance and complexity, and the result is SiAH.
